Anger Management

The program was developed in order to allow the participants to better understand the manner in which they deal with their emotions, particularly anger. It informs, sensitizes and educates the women on the advantages to be had from a better management of their anger.  The goal of the program is to give the women tools which can help them to better communicate and therefore deal with situations of conflict in an adequate manner. Rather than reinforcing guilt and fault, the program attempts to encourage the participants to take responsibility for their actions. With a different approach to their manner of thinking, feeling and behaving, they are then able to mobilize their energy in order to take better control of their lives.

The group setting of the program encourages discussion, reflection, exchange and self-expression as well as reassuring the women that they are not alone in living such difficulties. In this respect, the program also helps to break their social isolation.

We welcome women who have been sentenced and those who have a condition to follow an anger management program as a part of their sentence. However, we will also take into consideration requests from women who have no criminal record or who are awaiting sentencing if there is availablity in the group.
