Four women incarcerated in the provincial prison, Maison Tanguay, as well as a musician/sound engineer/artist, Andrew Harder, worked closely together for more than 15 hours to create a collective audio work. During a two week period the women individually compiled a multitude of sounds that they hear on a day to day basis behind the walls. The participants used different methods in their hunt for sounds. Some let their machines record hours at a time and then identified the sounds that were recorded while others enlisted the help of co-inmates to help them role play different situations lived in prison. Despite their different methods, they all worked with a common objective: to communicate the inhumanity of prisons.
